An ongoing project to develop Miami histories and ecologies, this map is available online from “A Story of a Chicago Fort” written by George Ironstrack at http://myaamiahistory.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/aacimwinki-niimihki-sikaakonki/

Members of the Miami University Geography department and the Miami Nation are collaborating on “The Historical Landscapes of the Miami” , mapping the physical and cultural landscapes and land uses of the Miami from around 1650 to 1850. The project uses the term Miami-Illinois to identify several groups, villages, or bands that were culturally and linguistically affiliated with each other, but politically autonomous.
